Minutes of AIC Committee Meeting

The committee reviewed and discussed the document prepared by Jim West that was emailed to each member.
This document, entitled Governance in the University of Hawaii at Leeward is to be incorporated as the introduction to the FYI booklet given to each faculty, staff and lecturer at LCC
The committee agreed wholeheartedly that Jim did an excellent job in articulating shared governance at LCC and defining each campus entity and their corresponding roles at LCC. The composition of the Campus Council was clearly defined along with all other campus bodies and how each contributes in the process of shared governance.
The committee discussed minor revision/inclusions to the document:
ü Include the Lecturer group (Dottie to submit)
ü Include and define Academic Support (Ralph to submit)
ü Include the number of members (group composition) of each group mentioned in the document
It was agreed that the document fulfilled the requirements requested by the Accreditation Committee. The committee’s intention is to have a document that will serve the college in the foreseeable future.
NEXT MEETING
A final meeting of the committee will be held on December 10th at 2:00pm. This meeting shall include the provost and the purpose will be to obtain approval of final copy.
